Purpose of Position: 

United Way of Dane County is seeking enthusiastic, driven, and community-minded individuals to join our dynamic Resource Development Team as Campaign Fundraising Specialists – Loaned Executives for the 2025 Community Campaign.


In this vital role, you will receive guidance and support from development staff as you help create and implement innovative fundraising strategies, cultivate meaningful volunteer engagement opportunities, and apply stewardship best practices. You’ll work closely with corporate and community partners to ensure the success of workplace giving campaigns throughout Dane County.


As a Campaign Fundraising Specialist – Loaned Executive, you will serve as the primary liaison between United Way and a portfolio of 20–35 companies. Each Loaned Executive will be responsible for supporting these organizations in raising awareness of United Way’s impact and achieving assigned fundraising and participation goals.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Research each assigned account to develop customized fundraising strategies based on potential and best practices.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations to diverse audiences, emphasizing the importance of supporting essential local services. Collaborate with CEOs and Leadership Giving Managers to organize special events that encourage major and continued contributions.
  • Motivate and guide company’s Employee Campaign Managers in the planning and execution of effective workplace campaigns.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date campaign records, submit weekly progress reports, and input detailed data and interactions into United Way’s database. Ensure timely campaign closeout and provide strategic recommendations for future growth.
  • Achieve assigned revenue and participation goals through relationship-building, professional follow-up, and timely pledge collection.

Additional responsibilities include:  

  • Facilitate campaign training sessions for company volunteers. 
  • Coordinate the delivery and distribution of campaign materials.
  • Organize and lead workplace presentations, agency tours and guest speaker events.  
  • Maintaining detailed records and notes on all campaign-related activities and outcomes. 


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelors degree preferred or four years’ experience in fundraising, sales, marketing or human services fields. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences effectively. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities.  
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines. 
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. 
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, high level of organizational and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft 365, Word, Excel and Outlook.  Experience with mail merge is a plus. 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. 

Minimum Experience 

  • Two years of administrative or office support experience required. 
  • Experience in fundraising, marketing, customer service, or sales strongly preferred. 
  • Data entry experience with a demonstrated ability to manage and complete accurate data entry for extended periods of time.  
  • Prior experience supporting volunteer-driven initiatives or workplace campaigns is a plus. 

Salary and Hours of Work

  • 17-week Full time limited term assignment 
  • July 30 to November 26, 2025
  • M – F, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm 
  • Possibility for limited hybrid work. 
  • $18.00/hour 
  • Ability to drive to events and activities within Dane County
