About the job:
As a Tooling Specialist, you will complete maintenance, change over and occasional repairs to injection molding tools.
What you will do:
• Perform injection mold preventative maintenance and insert changes in support of production with diligence and accuracy.
• Maintain accurate log of preventative maintenance and insert changes.
• Identify tooling deficiencies during preventative maintenance and notify Tooling Lead.
• Participate in root-cause analysis of tooling breakage and/or damage to assess corrective actions.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment always.
• Lead creation, organization, and maintenance of TPI’s, including work instructions, photo- documentation, historical logging, and revision control.
• Participate and lead tool room organization, including mold spare components, standard components (fasteners, pins, buy-outs).
• Identify and elevate tool, equipment, and other infrastructure needs to the Tooling Lead.
• Provide support to production operations (Molding, Special Ops, Production) as needed or directed by supervisor.
What we'd like you to have:
• High school education/GED required
• 2-10 years of related experience in tooling/manufacturing environment.
• Experience with injection mold maintenance and repairs.
• Solid understanding of the injection molding process.
• Strong attention to detail and willing to listen and discuss in an open, positive manner.
• Excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with limited direct supervision.
• Ability to work with quickly changing priorities and short deadlines.
• Ability to successfully communicate with internal and external customers.
• Provide exceptional support to internal customers (Molding, Production, Special Ops).
