Description

LAC Federal is seeking a Records Management Specialist (RMS) Level II to provide essential technical support for a federal agency in the Dallas, TX area. This position offers a competitive pay range of $25.00 -$30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

The Records Management Specialist II plays a critical role in assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of records management practices across multiple formats and platforms. The role requires experience in records management, excellent customer service skills, and proficiency in using automated information systems.

This position operates under the supervision of a Records Information Manager and does not include supervisory responsibilities.


Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and development of the regional records management program.
  • Analyze records management problems and propose strategies for improvement.
  • Provide responses to records-related inquiries using automated systems and databases.
  • Assist with the development of standard operating procedures and training modules.
  • Records center operations and the Versatile tracking system
  • Electronic records management
  • EPA regional records and file plans
  • Confidential Business Information (CBI) handling
  • Serve as a liaison to records management customers in a service bureau environment.
  • Maintain and update records center documentation.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of basic records concepts, file organization, and procedural compliance.
  • Administer and manage records-related databases.
  • Utilize Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams proficiently in daily tasks.


Requirements
  • College degree preferred, but not required
  • Prior customer service experience required
  • Experience in records or data management required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • Demonstrated experience with training delivery and module development
  • Familiarity with electronic records concepts and systems
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation capabilities
  • Ability to deliver technical content clearly in a training setting
  • Comfortable interacting with personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Adept at navigating automated information systems and databases

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to move from place to place within the location, lifting of items weighing up to (25) pounds and occasional up to 35 pounds such as files, books, stacks of paper, and other materials.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork.
