Prep Cook
Description

The Position:

Gibbet Hill Grill is seeking a skilled and experienced Prep Cook to join our restaurant team. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking ingredients, as well as assisting with food production and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for dishes, including cutting, chopping, and measuring ingredients
  • Follow recipes and directions provided by the head chef to ensure that all dishes are prepared consistently and to high quality standards
  • Work with other kitchen staff members to ensure that all elements of the meal, including sides and sauces, are prepared in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including proper storage and labeling of all food items 
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment, including knives, cutting boards, and food processors
  • Ensure that all food waste is minimized and disposed of properly


Requirements:

  • Prior relevant experience as a prep cook or similar role preferred.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift 30 lbs. 
  • Strong knife skills and ability to work efficiently with kitchen equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to follow direction and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
