Food Runner plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient service and a seamless dining experience. Their responsibilities go beyond simply delivering food—they act as a bridge between the kitchen and the front-of-house staff. Food runners must be quick, detail-oriented, and excellent communicators to ensure guests receive their meals in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
- Delivering food orders: Ensuring meals reach the correct tables promptly and accurately.
- Checking food quality: Verifying that orders are complete and meet presentation standards.
- Communicating with kitchen staff: Relaying special requests, modifications, or dietary restrictions.
- Maintaining cleanliness: Keeping the dining area and service stations organized.
- Supporting efficiency: Helping streamline food preparation and delivery to minimize delays.
PHYSICAL REQUREMENTS
- Endurance: Must be able to remain standing and for extended periods, with a minimum duration of 5 hours.
- Full-body mobility: Ability to move swiftly and efficiently across the restaurant
- Upper body strength: Engaging shoulders, arms, and hands for carrying trays and lifting items up to 30 lbs. safely and efficiently as part of regular duties.
- Frequent reaching: Stretching for plates, trays, supplies in various locations,
- Regular bending: Stooping to pick up dropped items or assist with table settings.
- These tasks require good balance, coordination, and stamina to ensure smooth food service operations.
