ABC-CLIO Solutions, an imprint of Bloomsbury Digital Resources, is seeking an editorial intern for summer 2025. We publish online social studies curriculum and reference content for use in high schools—think of our product as an online textbook/online research library for a variety of social studies topics.
Position Profile:
As a small team, our interns are a key part of our day-to-day operations. As an ABC-CLIO editorial intern, you will work with the editorial team on content creation projects for our databases.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Researching, collecting, and organizing historical statistics
- Proofreading transcripts
- Editing and/or updating existing articles
- Writing articles on social studies topics
- Various administrative tasks
- Opportunities to take on other editorial projects may also arise
We are looking for creative and motivated individuals, who ideally have the following skills:
- Experience researching and interpreting statistics
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Firm grasp of grammar and spelling, with a keen eye for detail
- A passion for research and reference writing
- Strong knowledge of social studies topics
- Ability to work efficiently and independently
- Strong communication skills in a fast-paced professional environment
Duration:
The internship will run 8-12 weeks early June to mid-to-late August. We require a commitment of 20 hours per week (specific schedule to be arranged with your supervisor) for the entire internship term.

Location:
This position will be hybrid, with 7 hours in the office and 13 hours working from home. Candidates must reside in CA and be able to commute to Bloomsbury USA’s Goleta office.
