We are currently seeking a dedicated Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) – Intake Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for individuals entering our Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs. This is a critical role designed for a compassionate, skilled professional who is passionate about helping people begin their recovery journey. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, with flexible hours. The pay for this role is $31.00 - $34.00 per hour.

Requirements

As an Intake & Assessment Specialist, you will:

  • Conduct intake interviews and assessments across all MAT branch locations, including via web-based platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with Patient Care Representatives and SUDP supervisors to coordinate intake scheduling and assignment of new clients.
  • Gather and synthesize bio-psychosocial information to evaluate client needs and guide treatment planning.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and participate in ongoing clinical reviews.
  • Provide high-quality counseling services, including individual, group, and family sessions when needed.
  • Maintain clinical documentation and client records in compliance with WAC, RCW, federal guidelines, and CARF standards.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, program meetings, and THS committees.
  • Promote and maintain professional ethics, integrity, and a positive public image of THS in the community.

What You Bring to the Role

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Social Services, Behavioral Health, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in counseling, case evaluation, and documentation; OR three years of direct counseling experience.
  • Active Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) certification, in good standing, as required by Washington Administrative Code.
  • A minimum of three years drug-free and not in treatment prior to employment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain a high level of cultural competency.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, emotional resilience, and collaborative spirit.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with King County’s behavioral health network and treatment modalities.
  • Experience working with court-involved individuals and legal systems.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
