Cloud Administrator

The Cloud Administrator develops, configures, implements, and manages the systems that comprise the underlying cloud platform. Establishes and executes the cloud operations as per the specifications and parameters. Implements cost-effective cloud-based systems that will fulfill the technical requirements of the organization.


Job Duties:

  • Coordinates with the IT department to develop and support Azure cloud infrastructure 
  • Manages Azure infrastructure including virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components 
  • Configures and maintains Azure Active Directory and implements identity management solutions 
  • Implements and manages Azure backup and disaster recovery solutions 
  • Monitors Azure resources using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics 
  • Establishes and maintains Azure security controls according to best practices 
  • Automates infrastructure deployment using ARM templates, Azure PowerShell, or Azure CLI 
  • Optimizes Azure resource utilization and manages costs using Azure Cost Management 
  • Provides technical assistance on Azure systems and resolves operational problems 
  • Serves as the "go-to" person to resolve and provide assistance with Azure-related issues 
  • Analyzes the configuration and network security of Azure systems to ensure proper operation and updates 
  • Manages and upgrades operating systems within Azure virtual machines 
  • Monitors and analyzes the capabilities and performance of Azure cloud systems 
  • Evaluates and implements new Azure technologies and integrates systems into the computing environment 
  • Assists in maintaining system security strategies, policies, and procedures for the Azure environment 

Competency, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Experience with Azure Portal, Azure PowerShell, and Azure CLI 
  • Knowledge of Azure networking concepts including VNets, NSGs, and Azure Firewall 
  • Understanding of Azure identity and access management (Azure AD) 
  • Experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for monitoring and troubleshooting 
  • Knowledge of Azure security best practices 
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using ARM templates or Terraform 
  • Familiarity with Azure automation and Azure DevOps 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills specific to cloud environments 
  • Advanced knowledge of Azure platform services 
  • Ability to learn new Azure services and features quickly 
  • Experience with Windows Server administration in an Azure environment 
  • Must have a drive to learn and continually improve the work environment 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Product and industry knowledge related to healthcare IT (preferred) 
  • Ability to work independently and with a team 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects 
  • Mental alertness and the ability to properly treat confidential information 
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office 
Requirements

Minimum Job Qualifications: 

  • An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, informational technology, management information systems or related field is required, Bachelor's degree preferred 
  • Microsoft certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) preferred 
  • Additional Azure certifications like AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer) considered an advantage 
  • Two (2) years of system administrator experience required 
  • Minimum of one (1) year hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure services 
  • Experience with Windows Server administration in cloud environments 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with healthcare IT systems and compliance requirements (HIPAA) 
  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (Terraform) 
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
