Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Machinist to oversee second shift operations in our precision medical device manufacturing facility. The Lead Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, ensuring high-quality production standards, and leading a small team of machinists and operators. This role requires a strong understanding of medical-grade materials, tight tolerances, and FDA/GMP regulations.
Requirements
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines for medical device components
- Inspect parts to ensure compliance with tight tolerances and quality standard
- Lead and train second shift team members, ensuring efficient workflow and safety practices
- Monitor production schedules and adjust resources to meet deadlines
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with GMP and FDA standards
- 5+ years of machining experience, preferably in the medical device industry
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, GD&T, and using precision measuring instruments
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, and materials used in medical device manufacturing
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA regulatory requirements
- All other duties as assigned
