HOA Accounting Manager (Remote)

Job Purpose:

We are a rapidly growing, innovative hospitality company reinventing the timeshare experience across discovery, booking, and stay. We seek an HOA Accounting Manager to be a key contributor in shaping our HOA accounting operations as we integrate new resorts and expand our product lines to service our HOA customers and partners. Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare and/or review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements  using fund accounting
  • HOA board reporting and other ad hoc reports
  • Collaborate & communicate across organizational departments to obtain information necessary for accurate financial reporting and improve processes
  • Understand GL coding, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close monthly books
  • Maintain general ledger, including recording of journal entries
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and other various schedules/reconciliations
  • Accrual of payroll costs and other accruals as needed
  • Assist with various accounts receivable invoicing and posting of payments
  • Processing and reconciling intercompany transactions
  • Assist with annual audits; research and gather necessary account information and documents 
  • Aid management in forecasting business review and other proforma reporting
  • Assist with leveraging technology to drive efficiencies
  • Supervise, train and mentor accounting staff under purview, as applicable

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • At least 4-6 years’ progressive experience in accounting
  • Supervisory and people leadership experience
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to be flexible and assess risk to make quick decisions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Skilled in time management in a remote work setting and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
  • Ability to analyze financial information and research/document reasons for fluctuations
  • Excellent technical abilities with advanced proficiency in both Google & MS Office products 
  • Must have ability to create and utilize Excel and Google Sheets spreadsheets, including but not limited to pivot tables and formula use with minimal instruction
  • Experience in the HOA, hospitality and/or travel industry, timeshare, or vacation rental experience a plus
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Floqast and Bill.com a plus

Requirements

Working Conditions:
This position is 100% remote. Must be available regular business hours and available for evening and/or weekend work on occasion. Must possess a stable, high-speed internet and working cellular telephone. Must be able to routinely perform indoor work with minimum noise levels. Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to plan and direct the work activities of self and others. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence, naturally or electronically and may include adaptive aids. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.


Physical Requirements:
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 8 hours per day. At times, occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities, as may be occasionally asked to travel to sites or events. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
