Description

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing high quality direct patient care and assisting providers and other clinical staff with patient care and other clinical and administrative duties in a professional manner. Ability to competently and skillfully perform all clinical and clerical functions including, but not limited to: vital signs, patient interview, electronic documentation, screening tools, lab/specimen prep, point of care collection and processing, filing, processing records, answering phones, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments and processing referrals. Must provide age-appropriate care in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the patient served. THIS IS A TRAVELING POSITION. OFFICES ARE LOCATED IN VINELAND, SEWELL, MOUNT LAUREL, AND VOORHEES.

Requirements
  • Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks and clinical duties including but not limited to obtaining and recording patient medical histories, receiving, and directing phone calls, ensuring successful completion of all forms
  • Maintaining medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep the medical equipment operating
  • Preparing patients for examination by performing physical tests, take vitals, reporting patient history summary, administering vaccinations
  • Give patients injections or medications as directed by physicians and as permitted by state law.
  • Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations
  • Counseling patients by transmitting physician’s orders and questions about the treatment
  • Delivering attention, compassionate support, and assistance to patients and families
  • Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc.
  • Aides staff, physicians, and other faculty as needed
  • Performs additional job-related duties as assigned
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
