Summary: Responsible for managing the Grants Department activities and staff for a family of five agencies with oversight of all phases of the grant cycle to include grant schedules, grant research, proposal creation and submission, and submission of timely and accurate reports for all existing grant-funded projects. In addition, all Mission Advancement staff are expected to assist in the implementation of the organization’s annual fundraising events.
Position Responsibilities:
- *Align Grant Department priorities with the funding priorities of the five agencies and oversee and manage all phases of the grant development process.
- *Manage grant activities including grant application and reporting schedules, initial research, creation of timelines, identification of resources, proposal and report writing, data collection and aggregation, agency reviews, and submission of grant proposals to potential funding entities.
- *Work fluidly with the Finance department and program staff to solicit written narratives, metrics, and budgets for grant application and reporting purposes.
- *Exercise discretion in written proposals and submissions.
- *Understand and adapt to changing grant standards and proposal rubrics to advise leadership of changes in the funding landscape.
- *Maintain current records in database including grant tracking and reporting.
- *Write, edit, and approve competitive grant applications according to grant requirements and agency standards.
- Approve and submit quarterly reports for Board of Directors, Governing Committees, and Directors Meetings
- *This position is responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of all staff under their supervision and will make recommendations for termination of employees.
- Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, English, Communications, or writing-related field required.
- Experience
- Minimum of three years of experience in grant writing, management, and reporting with at least one year of experience in the nonprofit sector preferred.
- License and Credentials
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
- Valid vehicle insurance
- Must have a clear driving record
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in grant writing including federal, state and local government grants, foundations, and corporation applications.
- Extensive working knowledge of grants process and contract management.
- Experience with computer software, including Microsoft Office and grant database.
- A solid grasp of time management and multi-tasking.
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
- Must have good written and verbal skills;
- Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Must have strong mathematical skills;
- Must be able to manage multiple projects at once with pending deadlines;
- Must be able to maintain high level or professionalism with internal and external partners.
- Must be able to support each of the functions of Mission Advancement including events, fundraising, grants, volunteers, and parish outreach.
