Job Purpose:

The Adventure Program Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing day-to-day mountaineer program operations as well creating new offerings. This role primarily manages ski school programs, summer youth programs, and assists the Adventure Manager in overseeing and expanding adventure programs. The Adventure Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a high level guest experience and doing so in a cost effective manner.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Honoring Commitments:

  • Ensures new hire paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Schedules and assigns staff according to anticipated guest needs.

Creating Positive Experiences:

  • Supervises mountaineer personnel, classes/lessons, and participating guests.
  • Maintains excellent interpersonal relationships.
  • Works with guests of all ages and ability levels.
  • Has excellent guest service and communicative skills.
  • Assisting guests to create an enjoyable experience.
  • Communicating instructions and helping guests.
  • When working with children: Supervising children in class at all times; assisting at lunch and snack times; ensuring the return of children to the identified guardian.
  • Has a clean and welcoming appearance.

Fostering Lifelong Learning:

  • Coordinates and conducts training sessions for both new and returning personnel and supports them throughout each season.
  • Encourages the professional development of employees.
  • Clearly and accurately provides instructions to staff and students at varying levels of skill, both physically and verbally.
  • Exhibiting Pioneering Spirit:
  • Builds and structures offerings to best leverage demand, terrain, rental equipment, and staffing.

Demonstrating Good Stewardship:

  • Understands business principles and the need for meticulous organizational skills.
  • Upholds the highest levels of guest safety on varied terrain, weather conditions, and potentially high-pressure environments.
  • Performs exit evaluations and rehire recommendations.
  • Assisting in operational responsibilities of programs including but not limited to the registration process, directing guests to appropriate areas of learning, upkeep of outdoor teaching areas, and cleanliness of facilities.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and undertake additional responsibilities as required, reflecting our commitment to flexibility and responsiveness in meeting business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; College degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and instructing/coaching experience.
  • Proficient in required software, including but not limited to Google Suite.
  • Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Capable of operating basic office equipment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage time, resources, and technology.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding office, employee, and company information.
  • Demonstrates professional conduct when addressing guest and employee complaints, adhering to company policy and procedures.
  • Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays throughout operational seasons.
  • Familiarity with computers, smartphones, tablets, kayaks, bikes, alpine skis, and snowboards is essential.

Preferred Experience:

  • SafeSport, ACA, PSIA, or AASI certification preferred
  • Previous experience working with youth in outdoor settings
  • Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring
  • 3 yrs. previous ski/snowboard instructor experience
  • Knowledge of local area/resort
  • Caring for and/or working with children ages 3+
  • Outdoor facilitation background

  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50lbs and carry 50 yards
  • Must be able to work outside in temperatures below 32 degrees and up to 90 degrees for (8) hours
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for up to (8) hours
  • Must have advanced skiing/snowboarding ability
  • Must have Kayak experience or willingness to learn

$21.00/hr
