ENTEK is seeking applications for a Divisional Controller role to join us on-site at our Lebanon, Oregon location (relocation within 40 miles of Lebanon is required).
As a Divisional Controller at ENTEK, you’ll be responsible for directing and analyzing the financial activities of operating entities under their control. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, managing and executing/reviewing all costing and operational accounting activities for the division. In addition, the Divisional Controller role supports, as needed, all financial accounting activities, budgeting, audit, tax, and other projects.
You will be a key business partner supporting the business unit leadership in achieving operational goals and improving decision-making through analysis and data. You will oversee the month-end and year-end closing process and ensure the completeness and accuracy of ENTEK’s accounting books and records. You will also manage the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and provide accounting support to assist operations in achieving their goals.
In the Divisional Controller role, you will lead, mentor, and develop direct reports, partnering with the business unit leadership, and focus on continually improving processes and systems, which are key components of this role. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze product cost, including materials, labor, manufacturing overhead, and inventory / stocking valuation levels. (Standards & variance analysis) and ensuring accurate cost allocation and financial reporting.
- Prepare detailed cost reports and forecasts for internal use and external stakeholders, highlighting variances between actual and budgeted or forecasted costs. Assist operations in investigating cost irregularities and developing cost and profitability improvement projects.
- Implement and oversee cost auditing processes to ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Develop key business partnering relationships with sales, supply chain, engineering, human resources, and other operational departments.
- Analysis of key customer contracts and revenue and margin analysis to support key business decision-making
- Analysis of price/volume/mix on revenue by product/workstream.
- Analyze transactions for proper accounting treatment and completeness, including account reconciliations and determining necessary accruals.
- Identify best practices between operating entities to identify cost savings and standardization opportunities.
- Supports the development and implementation of standardized business processes and policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- At least 7 years of accounting experience.
- Experience with multiple entities, cross-company intercompany accounting, and related party transactions.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and maintain control and order over them.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, as well as interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- In-depth experience in risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- The ability to draft routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Proven people skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the employee population, using excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Flexibility working within a growing, developing, and fast-moving environment, driving toward clarity and solutions.
- Ability to execute work products quickly, extending working hours to promptly complete assignments.
- Satisfactory results from a pre-employment drug screening and pre-employment background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Strong experience in both private and public accounting sectors.
- Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365 experience.
Working Environment
The hours for this role are Monday-Friday, starting at 7:00 a.m. This is an on-site role. Remote and/or Hybrid work is not available.
This role is in an office setting and frequently requires sitting, working at a computer, hearing, reaching, and completing tasks that require the use of hands and fingers for extended periods of time. The incumbent will occasionally be required to stand, walk, and may occasionally need to kneel, crouch, and climb stairs. If this role requires visiting the plant and/or shop floors, wearing eye and hearing protection will be required. The role requires specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
