Description

A Dental Lab Technician plays a vital role in the dental healthcare team by fabricating dental prostheses, including crowns, bridges, dentures, and orthodontic appliances. The technician works closely with dentists to ensure dental devices are custom-made to meet patients' specific needs and fit precisely. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and expertise in using specialized equipment and materials to create high-quality dental appliances.

 

Schedule: First Shift, Monday - Friday

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma, GED equivalency, or currently enrolled
  • Experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment a plus
  • Knowledge of tooth anatomy, preferred
  • Ability to understand and interpret work instructions
  • High attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Proficiency working with small parts, hand tools, and other small equipment preferred
  • Good eye-hand coordination, with the ability to distinguish between colors and see details at close range
  • Good manual dexterity, with the ability to perform and coordinate steady hand and arm movement
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods depending upon task being performed
  • Ability to walk and carry parts, materials, etc. between departments


COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Reliable and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Manufacture dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays, onlays, dentures, and/or implants using various materials (e.g., ceramic, metal, acrylic) according to dentist’s specification/design
  • Ability to understand prescription and manufacture dental appliances per Doctor’s instructions
  • Follow detailed instructions and work from impressions, molds, and digital scans provided by dentists to create accurate dental prosthetics
  • Adjust and repair dental prostheses as needed based on dentist specifications or patient feedback
  • Operate specialized lab equipment such as CAD/CAM systems, 3D printers, and casting machines for precision fabrication of dental appliances
  • Ensure the durability, functionality, and aesthetic appearance of dental devices through detailed inspection and testing
  • Properly select and use various dental materials, including porcelain, metals, and resins, while adhering to safety and procedural standards
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and case status for each patient
  • Ability to meet or exceed production requirements for areas of assignment
  • Ability to produce products that meet or exceed quality requirements for area of assignment
  • Follow all safety requirements and wear appropriate PPE as required
  • Ability to understand and follow requirements of the quality system
  • Safeguard and protect confidentiality of company and patient information as defined by the company’s Confidentiality Agreement
  • Understand how one’s performance can impact the success of the organization and product quality
  • Ability to use computer for scanning and to navigate through company intranet
