Position Summary:
The Redemption Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service at the redemption counter within a family entertainment center, arcade, or amusement facility. This role involves assisting guests in redeeming their earned tickets for prizes, maintaining a well-organized redemption area, ensuring a positive guest experience, and handling cash or point-of-sale transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet guests warmly and assist them in redeeming their tickets for prizes.
- Provide information on the prize selection and ticket values to help guests make informed choices.
- Ensure that all guests are treated with respect, creating a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
- Address any guest inquiries or concerns, providing solutions or escalating to management if needed.
- Redemption Process:
- Accurately count and process tickets presented by guests for prize redemption.
- Assist guests in selecting prizes, ensuring proper inventory levels and offering assistance when necessary.
- Verify ticket counts and ensure accuracy when processing redemptions.
- Maintain an organized and clean redemption area, ensuring that prizes are displayed in an appealing and accessible manner.
- Inventory Management:
- Keep track of prize inventory levels and notify management of any items that need to be restocked.
- Ensure that the prize area is stocked with a variety of items that appeal to guests of all ages.
- Assist in receiving, sorting, and organizing new prizes as they are delivered.
- Cash Handling & Transactions:
- Operate cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems for ticket redemption and prize transactions.
- Accurately process guest payments for additional purchases such as game cards, tokens, or merchandise.
- Ensure all transactions are completed accurately, including providing change or receipts as necessary.
- Prize Maintenance & Display:
- Regularly check the condition of prizes to ensure they are in good condition and presentable to guests.
- Rotate and reorganize the prize display to keep the area fresh and appealing to guests.
- Ensure all items are appropriately priced and labeled.
- Safety & Cleanliness:
- Maintain cleanliness in the redemption area, ensuring it remains organized, tidy, and welcoming for guests.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure that guests are following safety guidelines when handling prizes.
- Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management for resolution.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other team members, including game attendants and management, to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with restocking prizes, cleaning, or other tasks as directed by management.
- Participate in team meetings or training sessions to stay updated on new promotions, safety protocols, and guest service expectations
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Experience:
- Previous experience in customer service or a retail environment is preferred.
- Experience in a family entertainment center, arcade, or similar environment is a plus.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with guests.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when processing ticket counts and transactions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and counting tickets.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs (e.g., prize items or supplies).
- Comfortable working in a busy, high-energy environment with fluctuating noise levels.
Work Environment:
- The role is performed primarily in the indoor environment of an entertainment or arcade center but may also work outside.
- The work environment can be high-energy, especially during peak times (weekends, holidays, and special events).
- Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the center’s hours of operation.
