Tuesday - Thursday 3:00pm-11:00 pm, Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm, Saturday 4:00pm - 11:30pm – 40 hours
Bristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) is a non-profit organization supporting adult individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities by providing them with Residential, Vocational, Recreation and Day Support Services.
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to assist in caring for the health and wellbeing of Individuals with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. You will provide a range of services for the individuals based on their needs. This includes but is not limited to routine nursing services, personal care and domestic household services. Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least age 18.
- Must have an active LPN or LVN state license in Connecticut.
- One year of LPN experience preferred.
- Active CPR certification.
- One year working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred not required.
- Working knowledge of DDS and related training requirements and regulations preferred not required.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:
- Administers medications according to DDS policies and procedures. Destroys medications with Program Manager or Supervisor as needed.
- Assists RN with nursing delegated tasks, staff trainings and in-services.
- Collaborate with the nursing team, support teams, and guardians to provide effective care.
- Reviews all individuals’ medical files on a regular basis to ensure all medical needs are being met to comply with all licensing regulations, accreditation criteria, and agency policies.
- Prepares information for required reports for meetings, including annual and quarterly nursing assessments as assigned by the RN.
- Electronically record daily activities maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect the identity, medical, HIPPA information.
- Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Efforts:
- May include extended periods of standing, sitting, walking with occasional periods of stooping, crouching, kneeling.
- Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 25 pounds, push/pull varying weight (wheelchairs) or have to safely transfer ~35 pounds.
