ATL - Director of Operations (Bldg. 2)
Description

The Director of Operations will be responsible for the overall performance of the facility. They will provide leadership to all business units to support daily fulfillment production and be responsible for performing the Service Level Agreements of the company. Their performance will be measured against KPI’s included but not limited to Carry Over, OPH/UPH, and Inventory Accuracy. This role will also require working closely with our other facilities nationwide to ensure continuity. 

  

Primary Duties:

  • Communicates best practices 
  • Initiates process improvement teams 
  • Conference with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in the area 
  • Develop plans for efficient use of materials, equipment and employee resources 
  • Reviews costs and makes changes/recommendations to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division 
  • Directs preparation of accounting records, recommends budgets to management, ensures budget numbers are met 
  • Communicates KPI’s weekly, monthly, and quarterly 
  • Participates in company marketing and sales efforts 
  • Ensures ISO compliance with assigned facilities 
  • Ensures assigned facilities have the resources necessary to meet company goals and objectives 
  • Manages Operations Senior Managers, Managers and/or Account Managers within assigned facilities and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned accounts/campuses. 
  • Interviews, hiring and training employees 
  • Plans, assigns and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines; addresses complaints and resolves problems 
  • Travel as needed: to possible include 75% in 1st 90 days and 15-25% after 1st 90 days 
  • Promotes and ensures a clean and safe work environment 
  • Other duties as required and assigned

Job Qualifications Mandatory:


Essential Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public 
  • Ability to properly manage P&L 
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form 

  

Preferred Qualifications:


Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university preferred
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Experience and/or knowledge of storage and shipment of food grade items preferred 
  • Experience with both inbound and outbound international shipments preferred 
  • Knowledge of labor management systems 
  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel 

  

Physical Demands:

  • Sight: Must be able to see well enough to read product lot numbers and expiration dates, read reports, and use a computer. 
  • Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate in person or via technology, and to hear warning signals of forklifts and warehouse equipment. 
  • Standing: Must be able to stand for shift duration. 
  • Walking: Must be able to walk without assistance to perform job duties.
  • Mobility: Must be able to be mobile to operate warehouse machinery. 
  • Sitting: Must be able to sit for shift duration. 
  • Stooping, Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel for short periods of time. 
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift 30 lbs – 50 lbs. 
  • Hand Mobility: Must be able to have mobility in hands to open and seal packaging, utilize keyboard functions, and utilize phone systems.
