Description

We are seeking a reliable and experienced heavy equipment mechanic with a CDL license to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, transporting, and operating the equipment (Skid Loader, Mini Excavator, Wheel Loader, etc.) to load and unload at various job sites in Florida, primarily making day trips with occasional overnight stays. When not on the road, the driver will maintain heavy equipment and perform light duty truck maintenance i.e. oil changes at our main headquarters in Fort Pierce.

Requirements

License: Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) - Class A.

  • Driving Record: Must have a clean driving record with no recent accidents, tickets, or disqualifying violations.
  • Experience:
    •  2+ years of experience Heavy Equipment maintenance.
    • Preferably 2+ years of experience operating commercial vehicles.
    • Knowledge of handling various types of cargo and understanding of load securement.
    • Knowledge and operation of heavy equipment, such as Skid Loader, Mini Excavator and Wheel Loader.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
    • Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs for loading/unloading if required.
    • Must be able to sit for long periods and handle the physical demands of driving.
    • Technical certification in heavy equipment mechanics preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools.
    • Excellent time management to meet delivery schedules.
    • Basic maintenance knowledge for vehicle checks and reporting issues.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills for logging and customer interaction.
  • Availability:
    • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight stays.
  • Other:
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and be subject to random drug and alcohol tests per DOT regulations.
    • Clean criminal background check.
    • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
