Summary:
As the Maintenance Technician for St. Jude, you’ll provide general maintenance and basic repairs for various buildings on the property as well as opening event hall doors and being present throughout the event and locking hall doors after the event. This position requires you to conduct in a professional manner that assures safety, efficiency, and procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
- Inspect all buildings and facilities and initiate repairs to include changing lightbulbs, filters, etc..
- Perform maintenance in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and others. For more complex issues, management must be notified.
- Complete work orders and process them.
- Responds to after-hours emergency calls as needed.
- Work cooperatively with staff to schedule and complete repairs.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
- Perform spot checks on equipment to ensure proper working conditions.
- Move furniture and office equipment as requested.
- Assists in maintaining inventory of materials, parts, supplies, tools and equipment.
- Complete special projects as directed by management.
- Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities especially during events such as any reserved event in hall.
- Consistently walk church building to inspect for cleanliness, clean when needed, and maintain appearance of all church indoor areas and front and back door entryways so all visitors arrive to clean outdoor and indoor areas.
- Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
- Set-up rooms in the manner and timeframe requested (tables, chairs, microphone, chalk boards, etc.)
- Clean hall after events.
- Provides janitorial/custodial support services to staff, including but not limited to internal and external buildings and grounds, such as cleaning offices, taking out trash, cleaning restrooms and kitchens as needed.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.

- Attend evening hall events on Saturdays (as needed) – Opening the doors, addressing issues during the event, make sure to leave hall cleaned and locked up securely.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in maintenance related work.
- License and Credentials
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
