Average Starting Pay Range $15.00 - $18.00


Day Shift Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm


PTO upon hire, Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits are offered after 90 days of employment, 401K after 6 months


Overview:  As a Tool Crib Attendant for Merrill: A Keel Company, you will be responsible for the organization of the tool crib, along with managing and distributing tools kept in the tool crib. You will be tasked with receiving and sorting incoming supplies, ensuring they are properly stored and accounted for, and may be asked to perform minor equipment repair on tools as necessary, so some mechanical familiarity is necessary.


Job Functions: 

  • Assist with new employee setups
  • Sign out filler metals for the welding and fabrication team.
  • Report inventory to manager.
  • Pass out items that are kept in the tool crib.
  • Responsible for the organization of the tool crib, along with the current inventory, as well as delivery of tools as requested.
  • May perform minor repairs on tools and equipment as needed.

  

Physical Demands: Frequent standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance.


Work Environment: Typical welding/fabrication shop floor, with fumes from welding and risk of eye flash. Welding helmets, eye protection, and ear protection are required along with safety toed boots. Exposure to debris/particulates, moving equipment, and high temperatures is frequent, and there is risk of sustain high temperatures depending on weather conditions.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • One (1) year of experience in related position in fabricating/welding industry or similar.
  • Experience in machinery repair preferred, therefore ideal candidate must be mechanically inclined.
  • Well organized, industrious, hardworking, and team player.
  • Must be able manage inventory.
  • Basic computer literacy skills will be required.
  • Excellent time management skills.
