POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs a wide variety of basic accounting and administrative functions supporting customer deposit operations, under general supervision and in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Balances all types of customer and bank accounts, including Demand Deposit (DDA), Savings, Certificate of Deposit (CD) and Individual Retirement Account (IRA) Systems, as well as general ledger activity as assigned.
- Inputs weekly data for FR 2900 Report.
- Verifies wire transfer data entry, or performs wire transfer transactions throughout the day.
- Performs call backs to customers to verify wires.
- Supports Universal Bankers with the set-up and maintenance of new and existing customer products and services.
- Works cash letters and performs nightly processing of items to Bankers Bank or the Federal Reserve, using the core processor and proof of deposit systems.
- Prepares tickets related to customer and general ledger accounts.
- Fulfills requests for statement copies and CD-ROM statement generation.
- Prepares and mails various correspondence and reports to customers as needed concerning their deposit account relationships.
- Submits ACH file to Federal Reserve as assigned.
- Resolves debit and ATM card issues, processes new and reissued card requests, balances accounts and inputs data.
- Performs chargebacks on Debit cards and talks to parties involved in process as assigned.
- Resolves issues through investigation, research and analysis of records.
- Processes U.S. postal mail as needed.
- Serves as back-up to Call Center operations as needed daily.
- Protects the confidentiality of information that flows through the department.
- Contributes ideas toward improving the overall deposit operations function.
- Demonstrates professional and respectful customer service skills when communicating and interacting with customers.
- Helps protect the bank’s best interests in all matters pertaining to Deposit Operations.
- Maintains current knowledge of all applicable regulatory guidelines, bank policies and procedures.
- Provides support to other internal departments as needed.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
- A strong background in the principles of accounting and/or bookkeeping. Education beyond high school or equivalent relevant experience. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar education tract is encouraged.
- Previous experience in banking or a similar position very desirable.
- Strong computer software knowledge, particularly Excel and Word, comfort using the internet as a research and working tool, and quick adaptability to using new software applications.
- Strong basic math and data entry skills.
- Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Efficient, helpful and professional customer-oriented interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work productively and independently with minimal supervisory overview.
- High degree of organizational and multi-tasking ability.
- Ability to recognize issues of significance and prioritize assignments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Typical office environment. Requires ability to operate numerous types of office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, fax machines, copiers and calculators. Primarily a sedentary position but requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, stretching, stooping and driving. Requires the ability to view and read computer screens and paper documents.

- This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with an expected pay range of $19.00 - $25.00 per hour.
