Description

DUTIES:

  • Assist patients with applying for medical assistance in an Emergency Department and Inpatient hospital setting, both bedside and at a desk.
  • Verifying patient health insurance information
  • Working with patients and/or family members, employers, banks and federal/state offices for additional information as needed
  • Accurately document information into various systems
  • Performing duties such as faxing, filing, emailing, and making phone calls to facilitate completion of applications
  • Provide coverage at hospital facility(ies) on an as needed basis
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and car insurance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal
  • Must have customer service and office skills and the ability to handle fast paced patient interactions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications: Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of EPIC recommended but not required
  • Detail oriented, strong problem solving, and research skills
  • Ability to meet monthly productivity goals
  • Travel to other client facilities as needed. Milage reimbursed for travel.

  

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED required


Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Also prolonged periods of being on your feet while on site at the hospital.

• Must have reliable transportation to travel between PATHS office in Newark, DE and our clients hospital in Dover, DE

Pre-Employment Requirements

Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of applicable screenings consistent with federal, state, and local laws.
Screenings may include: criminal background check, drug screen, physical exam, PPD screening, and verification of immunization records (role-specific).
Employment eligibility will be verified through I-9/E-Verify.
Because PATHS operates in the healthcare industry, certain screenings (e.g., OIG/GSA exclusion checks, state Medicaid exclusion lists) may be conducted on a recurring basis as required by federal and state law, client contracts, and hospital compliance programs.


Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $17-$20 hourly

Training schedule is 8:30AM-5:00PM at our Newark, Delaware Office. 

Work schedule is 8:00AM-4:30PM OR 8:30AM-5:00PM

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
