Lead Program Coordinator 

Overtown Youth Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Program Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in empowering and enriching the lives of youth and families. In this position, you will work closely with the Program Manager(s) to provide oversight and support to program teams, ensuring the successful implementation of program components that lead to positive outcomes for the youth in the OYC program.

What You Would Do: 

  • Supervise program coordinators and staff, providing coaching to ensure program quality. 
  • Coordinate outings and trips, ensuring safety and enriching experiences for students. 
  • Manage program schedules, staff rotations, and ensure adequate coverage. 
  • Serve as the main point of contact for OYC vendors, partners, and volunteers. 
  • Support curriculum-based activities and ensure they meet program goals. 
  • Assist in training new hires and providing ongoing staff education. 
  • Retain open availability for emergency response and ensure timely incident reporting. 
  • Ensure programs meet licensing, contractual, and quality standards. 
  • Support staff communication, problem-solving, and crisis management. 
  • Monitor student enrollment, attendance, and participation. 
  • Maintain student files, including assessments and progress notes. 
  • Chaperone outings and trips as needed. 
  • Help develop and implement curriculum and special projects. 
  • Participate in staff development and training to promote growth. 
  • Foster a safe, supportive learning environment for students. 
  • Support program fidelity and assist in maintaining DCF credentialing. 
  • Oversee student recruitment and ensure compliance with program requirements. 
Requirements

 

What We’re Looking For: 

We’re seeking an organized, proactive leader with the following qualifications: 

  • High school diploma (Bachelor's degree preferred). 
  • 4-6 years of experience working in youth programs, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. 
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff. 
  • Experience in crisis management and problem-solving in a youth setting. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and complete administrative tasks. 
  • Strong customer service skills and a team-oriented attitude. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. 
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. 
  • Ability to pass drug screening and Level 2 background check.
