Elementary Teacher (Part Time)

What You Would Do:
- Act as a liaison between the Overtown Youth Center and DCPS, ensuring smooth communication and coordination of services.
- Teach all subject areas as part of a well-rounded curriculum for students in the program.
- Plan and implement daily classroom activities, preparing engaging lesson plans and developmental activities.
- Work with at-risk youth, supporting their academic and personal growth while fostering a safe and positive learning environment.
- Document student progress, including attendance, test scores, graduation rates, and accomplishments.
- Assist with field trips, exposure trips, and other extracurricular activities when necessary.
- Coordinate services and collaborate with other professionals and paraprofessionals to support student development.
- Participate in weekly meetings with the lead teacher to discuss curriculum, student progress, and overall classroom goals.
- Actively engage in staff development workshops and training sessions to enhance personal and professional growth.
- Build strong relationships with students, creating a positive and encouraging classroom environment.
- Contribute to the quality improvement process, offering feedback and participating in ongoing evaluation of programs and practices.
