Position Summary
The Banquet House Attendant at the Cascade Hotel is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of banquet and meeting rooms in accordance with client specifications and hotel standards. This role is critical to the success of group and social events, ensuring that all event spaces are prepared, clean, and aligned with the elevated service expectations of our Tribute Portfolio guests.
- Set up banquet and meeting rooms, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, staging and buffet lines per Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Tear down and reset rooms promptly after events conclude.
- Maintain cleanliness of event spaces before, during, and after events.
- Deliver water, glasses, supplies, and any special client requests as needed.
- Ensure all back-of-house and storage areas are organized and secure.
- Operate cleaning equipment including vacuums and carpet shampooers to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Polish metals, and furnishings to maintain presentation standards.
Guest Experience:
- Approach all guest and associate interactions with professionalism, warmth, and a service-first mindset.
- Provide prompt and courteous assistance to event hosts and clients.
- Ensure guest requests related to room setup and amenities are handled efficiently and accurately.
- Support Banquet Captains and other team members in executing seamless, memorable events.
Team Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with Banquets, Events, Engineering, and Housekeeping teams to ensure alignment on room setups and cleanliness standards.
- Assist with inventory control, including tracking and transporting tables, chairs, and event equipment.
- Uphold safety and service standards as outlined by the Cascade Hotel and Marriott International.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings and team briefings to review event details and expectations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One to two years of experience in banquets, events, or hospitality support preferred.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently).
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Must be able to follow directions, take initiative, and work effectively under pressure.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, physically active environments.
- Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy furniture and equipment throughout shift.
