Commercial Roaming Landscaper

Department: Landscaping Services – School Facility Management, LLC
Reports To: Landscape Division Manager
Location: Nashville (start in West Nashville daily)

Employment Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Compensation: between $19/hr - $21/hr DOE


Full time: 40 hours per week

  • Monday through Friday, typically from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (with a break)
  • Occasional weekend work may be required
  • Schedule may vary slightly based on seasonal demands and weather conditions

Position Summary:
We are a growing landscaping company looking for a dedicated and skilled Mid-Level Landscaper to join our team. The primary focus of this role is supporting irrigation system maintenance and upkeep of planting beds, including tasks such as weeding, mulching, pruning, and seasonal plant care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Help to prune, trim, and treat disease to keep our landscapes healthy and thriving. 
  • Assist with irrigation charge-ups, fixes, and programming to ensure our landscapes flourish
  • Help to install new landscape beds when needed to enhance our landscapes.
  • Remove litter and debris from campus grounds, including gardens, walkways, and lawns, to maintain a clean environment.
  • Assist in preparing athletic fields for events, including line painting, turf care, and ensuring the fields are ready for play.
  • Help with snow removal on sidewalks, driveways, and pathways during the winter months.
  • Participate in event setup and teardown, ensuring outdoor spaces are properly prepared and cleaned.
  • Assist with traffic control duties during school hours or special events
  • Assist other departments with general labor or maintenance tasks during slow periods or when grounds-related duties are limited.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out with attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, twisting, climbing, and performing repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 75 pounds intermittently.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
  • Experience with basic landscaping tools such as mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and hand tools.
  • Knowledge of commercial lawn care equipment and irrigation systems.
  • Willing to assist with other tasks as needed, including event setup, basic repairs, and seasonal maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting progress.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2+ years of landscaping or groundskeeping experience.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required for operating company vehicles.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check to work in educational facilities with children present.
  • Must be able to work on a smoke-free campus.
