Your Responsibilities:

  • Respond to nurse call systems to determine resident needs.
  • Assist residents with dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair care, and incontinence care.
  • Help residents with eating and obtaining food trays.
  • Support residents with range of motion exercises and movement to/from wheelchair or activity areas.
  • Aid residents with turning, positioning in bed, and ambulation.
  • Record vital signs and monitor food and fluid intake/output.
  • Document activities of daily living (ADLs) and restorative services provided.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to provide input on resident care plans.
  • Ensure punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.

Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licenses/Certification

  • Valid certification as a CNA in the state of employment.
  • Valid CPR certificate preferred.

Experience

  • Six months experience in a long term-care environment preferred.

NOTE: A CNA who successfully completes an approved advanced skills training curriculum and/or has demonstrated experience in a needed clinical specialty area, e.g. ventilator, pulmonary, and tracheostomy (VPT), can be classified as a CNA II.
