Kommissary is a social enterprise on a mission to spread joy through food. We produce and deliver high volumes of meals spanning a diverse array of cuisines to every demographic in New York City.
Kommissary is seeking a Warehouse Manager that will work efficiently in a high-paced environment, using good verbal and written communication skills. The Warehouse Manager will cultivate a warehouse environment centered around people, safety, service, and cost-efficiency by actively engaging with warehouse staff, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining safe and profitable operations. Drawing on their extensive experience in warehouse management, they will oversee personnel and streamline operations, ensuring the precise and timely handling of inbound and outbound products. Their leadership will be key to achieving effective and secure warehouse operations.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Oversee Warehouse Supervisors and staff to ensure operational excellence and adherence to established SOPs and business process compliance standards.
- Support the Operations Manager in resolving issues, and in evaluating work methods, procedures, controls, and staffing to ensure accurate and timely product movement.
- Coach, train, and develop Warehouse Supervisors to improve performance and operational efficiency.
- Lead the recruitment, hiring, training, coaching, and ongoing development of warehouse staff.
- Manage hourly employees to ensure compliance with disciplinary guidelines, work rules, and attendance policies.
- Ensure daily operations run according to schedule, maintaining accurate records, documentation, and administrative standards.
- Develop and execute action plans for FDA, business process compliance, and wage and hour audits.
- Ensure safety compliance through regular observations, incident investigations, root cause analysis (5 Whys), 6S practices, safety committee participation, and follow-through on action items.
Requirements:
- A valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT certification to operate DOT regulated vehicles.
- Client interaction, communication, organization/time management, multi-tasking, detail-oriented, accuracy-driven, and proficient computer skills.
- Familiarity with inventory control procedures and experience handling perishable products.
- Industry background in vending, food service, route distribution, or retail.
- Ability to work various shifts of a 24/7 operation.
- Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office and Google Suite).

Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay range is $60,000.00-$72,000.00 per year, depending on skill level, experience and/or education.
