SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, the Manager, Strategic Initiatives plays a dual role as both a team leader and a process optimizer. This person will lead a small, high-performing team while driving efficiency and performance improvements across Zing Health’s core eligibility and enrollment operations. The ideal candidate combines strong people management capabilities with deep data fluency and project management experience to deliver compliant, accurate, and scalable outcomes in a highly regulated environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in operational complexity, understands the details, and takes initiative to solve root problems while elevating team performance.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Team Leadership (˜50%)

  • Lead, coach, and develop a lean team responsible for executing day-to-day enrollment and eligibility operations
  • Create a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Provide performance management, professional development, and mentoring support
  • Ensure team operations align with CMS guidelines and internal performance standards

Operational & Process Optimization (˜50%)

  • Use data and workflow analysis to identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, and root causes of errors
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives that streamline processes, improve data quality, and enhance the member onboarding experience
  • Build scalable systems for tracking, reconciliation, and audit readiness
  • Serve as a key liaison across IT, Compliance, Member Services, and vendors to resolve issues and implement enhancements
  • Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and escalate issues as needed
  • Translate complex data into actionable dashboards, performance insights, and executive reports
  • Stay abreast of CMS guidance and evolving regulatory requirements, ensuring that internal procedures remain compliant
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • 3+ years of Medicare Advantage experience 
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing people or operational teams 
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, SQL, or BI tools 
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally in fast-paced, complex environments 
  • Background in management consulting or healthcare advisory preferred, particularly with exposure to process optimization, operational design, or strategy implementation 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from conception through execution with measurable outcomes
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and actionable process improvements
  • Experience with vendor management and performance monitoring
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially across departments
  • Familiarity with CMS enrollment/eligibility regulations and reconciliation tools
