Senior Buyer/Planner - Tires

Sullivan Tire, an employee-owned company, is seeking a Senior Buyer/Planner to join our team in Taunton, MA. The Senior Buyer/Planner Tires is a tire expert who is responsible for the development of Sullivan Tire sourcing strategy in all categories of consumer tire spend. This individual is the lead purchasing contact responsible for supplier relationship management, supply base design, and supplier related joint business planning and improvement programs. They will organize and lead external inquiries, both to develop new sources as well as managing supplier costs via competitive bidding and spend consolidation. 


Major Responsibilities:

  • Managing inventory cost and cash
  • Lead daily inventory planning, supplier forecasting, automated order execution, database maintenance, demand planning, and business process documentation
  • Develop comprehensive industry knowledge and depth of understanding of products, suppliers, and the competitive industry landscape in the assigned categories of spend, as well as developing purchasing systems proficiency
  • Creative opportunities to improve processes and design dashboards
  • Procurement, P2P, buying passenger and/or commercial truck tires
  • RFP, RFQ, Strategic Sourcing, Negotiation
  • Data analytics
Requirements

 Education/Experience

  • 5-10 years’ experience in procurement or sales. Prior experience within a major tire manufacturer company, national/regional      tire distributor, or local retail/wholesale tire network a plus
  • Prior experience using Microsoft D365 ERP procurement module is highly desirable. Other MRP modules in SAP or Oracle also a plus
  • Associate’s / Technical / Bachelor’s / or Advanced Degrees a plus

Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical knowledge and proficiency in the OE and aftermarket auto parts business
  • Ability to be a positive team player 
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Ability to work well cross functionally with other teams/departments  
  • Database management, Excel, Access, SQL (programming languages a plus)
  • Prior experience with deeper set of Microsoft products a plus: D365 ERP system, Power Apps, Power BI, Access
