Purpose of Role
As a EHS Specialist, you will oversee the environmental, safety and health programs, coordinate safety training programs, support equipment buy-off, process/work instruction evaluations, and conduct site visits as needed to monitor compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to oversee the implementation and adherence to the EHS program for the organization. The EHS Specialist will work collaboratively with the operations team to create processes and training to improve the overall health and safety of the organization in support of continued success of the organization.

- Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance.
- Evaluate performance, identify corrective actions, and implement follow-up assessments.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
- Plan, implement, manage, and maintain comprehensive environmental safety & health programs for compliance with company and government regulations.
- Assures adherence to and application of Condair established requirements to all ISO Certifications and objectives relative to Environmental, Health, & Safety.
- Collaborate with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
- Maintain a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
- Inspect equipment and buildings to ensure they meet industry safety standards.
- Develop new or enhanced safety procedures to reduce or eliminate safety risks.
- Conduct new employee orientation and other safety related training for employees.
- Routinely evaluate the company’s environmental, safety and health performance through audits, assessments, and benchmarking.
- Support and facilitate employee engagement to drive safety excellence.
- Provide oversight and direction for First Aid and employee wellness activities.
- Oversite of activities both on site and at other Condair US locations.
- Support of capital projects and any facility wide construction.
- Develop and support EHS reporting documents both locally and at the corporate level.
- Travel both within North America and internationally may be required.
- Adhere to Condair’s Quality Assurance System and Health and Safety policies.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
- Environmental, Health & Safety degree, or commensurate experience is preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, with machining and assembly processes is an asset.
- A good understanding of the lean tools is an asset. ISO 14’001 and ISO 45’001 knowledge required.
- Knowledge about international ESG regulations preferred (RoHS, REACH, conflict minerals, PFAS, CBAM).
