Office Details: The Product Manager will be expected to office out of the San Francisco office 3 days a week. 


Target Pay: $153,161 - $170,119 per year + annual discretionary bonus 


Role Overview: Prime’s IT Product Manager is the key liaison between the IT organization and the Prime Residential business. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for all new and evolving IT needs and as an advocate for the business for support-related issues. The Product Manger will develop a broad and deep understanding of the Prime Residential business, including the core functional areas of Accounting, Acquisitions, Property Management, Asset Management, Construction, Centralization Team and Marketing. They will be responsible for partnering with the business to identify opportunities to leverage technology to support growth objectives across Prime Residential’s business activities.  

They will also have overall responsibility for ensuring that Prime Residential is getting maximum value from existing software tools and partnerships (e.g., RealPage, Office 365 suite), that technology-related business processes are working efficiently and effectively and for ensuring that technology-related needs are understood, documented, and addressed. This role will work alongside senior management in IT and the business to develop a Prime Residential-specific IT strategy and road map.

Requirements

 

Evolving Technology Requirements 

  • Initial evaluation of all new technology-related projects and initiatives, to ensure scope, requirements, scale, and integrations are fully understood, all appropriate options are considered, and risks are understood. 
  • Work with the business stakeholders and the wider IT team to develop the Business Case and ROI for Prime Residential projects. Shepherd projects through the approval process where necessary. 
  • Execute “quick win” Information Technology initiatives and small projects that can be delivered outside the formal project management framework through available resources. 
  • Evaluation of completed projects to demonstrate impact/ROI. 

Optimization of Existing Tools  

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and existing partners (e.g., RealPage, Microsoft) to alleviate ‘pinch points’ in existing processes and solutions by reviewing settings, workflow, and existing use of the tools available. 
  • Review, Understand and evaluating product road maps to ensure Prime Residential is taking advantage of new functionality at the appropriate time and optimizing business processes and/or settings to maximize impact of new functionality available. 
  • Collaborate with staff in Accounting, Acquisitions, Property Management, Asset Management, Construction, Risk Management, Centralization Team and Marketing to understand requirements, identify appropriate technology solutions and champion them within the business and the wider IT organization. 
  • Develop relationships with existing providers to lobby and advocate for enhancements that will add value for Prime Residential. 
  • Work closely with Support staff to resolve Prime Residential-related challenges and encourage and foster creative, collaborative problem-solving. 
  • Collaborate with the Training Manager to identify training needs and ensure that appropriate content is available and distributed when new software or solutions are released. 
  • Oversee process improvement & innovation.  
  • Evaluate and understand Prime Residential’s current processes and workflows and recommend innovative solutions (e.g., process changes, new software, or new ways of using existing software) to improve operational efficiency, resident experience and/or financial performance. 
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline existing business processes, and work with the business to encourage adoption of new tools and ways of working. 
  • Work with stakeholders to document requirements, scope solutions and determine resource requirements. 
  • Attend conferences and interface with vendors and other similar organizations to understand industry trends and opportunities for innovation that Prime Residential will be able to leverage to improve efficiency and automation. 
  • Ongoing evaluation of Technology Solutions for trending global issues, areas for enhancement and possible alternative vendors. 
  • Support technology needs for Due Diligence and Acquisition of new properties.  

Role Requirements:  

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Management Information Systems or related discipline or equivalent practical experience. 
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar role.  
  • Previous experience with running and optimizing standard residential property management and accounting software, specifically RealPage OneSite MRI, and/or Yardi (OneSite preferred).  
  • Must be able to “translate” between the business and the IT function, either by working on technology projects from a role in Operations or working in a consultative change management role partnering with stakeholders from within the IT function. 
  • Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel and Microsoft Office 365 sharing, collaboration, and workflows. 
  • Ability to multi-task, balancing several competing priorities.  
  • Strong problem solving and analytic skills to isolate problems, recommend solutions and implementation of solutions. 
  • Excellent listening and critical thinking skills – ability to learn quickly, understand current processes and requirements and identify new tools or ways of working that achieve business objectives. 
  • You have effective verbal and written communication skills and can adapt a communication style to suit different audiences.
