E-Kit Pharmacy Technician Job Duties and Requirements

Pharmacy Technician manages the MedBank CR Station, (Cubie Replenishment Station) restocks for distribution to long term care facilities. Accomplish this by following departmental policies and procedures within the scope of long-term pharmacy standards.

  • MedBank      CR Station (Cubie Replenishment Station):
    • Fill       the Restock medications used by the Facility MedBank Towers when needed.
    • Manage       soon to expire medications.
    • Unload       medications returned to the Pharmacy.
    • Create       invoices and prepare medications for delivery.
    • Remove       medications from the narcotic room to fill at the CR Station.
    • Troubleshoot       problems.
  • Communicate      with consultant pharmacists:
    • Notify       the consultant pharmacist who is assigned to the facility if there are       any problems or medication replacement will be delayed.
    • Work       with the consultant pharmacist and help find out if any medications are       missing from the facility MedBank Tower.

Minimum (Required): (must be met in order to perform the job at the required level)

  • High      School Diploma or GED
  • Certification      as a pharmacy technician is preferred or required as state laws apply.

Preferred: (if above and beyond the minimum required)

  • One to      two years Pharmacy experience preferred.

Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal voice sounds. The E-Kit Pharmacy Technician is responsible for managing the MedBank CR Station (Cubie Replenishment Station) and restocking medications for distribution to long-term care facilities. This role ensures compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and long-term pharmacy standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • MedBank      CR Station Management:
    • Restock       medications used by facility MedBank Towers as needed.
    • Monitor       and manage soon-to-expire medications.
    • Unload       and process returned medications.
    • Prepare       medications for delivery, including invoice creation.
    • Retrieve       medications from the narcotic room for restocking at the CR Station.
    • Troubleshoot       system or medication-related issues.
  • Communication      & Coordination:
    • Notify       the assigned consultant pharmacist of any issues or delays in medication       replacement.
    • Assist       consultant pharmacists in identifying and resolving missing medication       concerns at facility MedBank Towers.

Minimum Requirements (Must be met to perform the role effectively)

  • High      school diploma or GED.
  • Pharmacy      technician certification (as required by state laws).

Preferred Qualifications (Additional qualifications that are beneficial)

  • One to      two years of pharmacy experience.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability      to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the day.
  • May be      required to sit or stand for 7 to 10 hours per day and occasionally      work extended hours.
  • Requires      fine motor skills to operate office equipment and handle medications.
  • Ability      to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Strong      visual acuity for reading fine print, distinguishing colors, and adjusting      focus.
  • Must      be able to hear normal voice sounds for effective communication.
