Under the responsibility of the Learning and Development Manager, the Learning and Development Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining educational curriculum and associated resources such as instructor-led presentations, self-paced e-learning courseware, job aids, etc.
Responsibilities
· Works collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts to produce effective training curriculum and associated resources.
· Designs and develops technically accurate and engaging instructor-led training programs and e-learning courses that combine instructional design best practices with pragmatic approaches.
· Engages in rigorous quality assurance of educational resources
· Evaluates, analyzes, and reports on training effectiveness.
· Manages a library of existing educational resources (updates, version control, tracking of changes)
· Offer employee support for LMS navigation/issues
· Manage and monitor LMS support inbox
· Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Education Technology or equivalent
· 1 year experience in instructional design, curriculum design and/or e-Learning development
· Identify instructional goals, learning objectives and teaching points
· Storyboard training courses
· Conceive curriculums and learning paths
· Ability to conceptualize and develop graphics that promote an understanding of teaching points
· Excellent writing skills
· Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint
· Experience with e-learning development tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Camtasia)
· Experience with graphic editing tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere)
· Experience working with a Learning management System (e.g., Moodle) and knowledge of the SCORM standard
· Experience with 3D modelling tools (e.g., Sketch Up)
· Experience with a PowerPoint library management tool (e.g., Empower)
· Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
· Ability to prioritize tasks while working on multiple projects
· Strong decision maker with the ability to assume project/task ownership
· Possesses a strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining established standards
· Able for travel to the United States is a must
· Fluency in English & French
