Position Overview:

Advance Industrial Mechanical (AIM) is seeking a dedicated and skilled HVAC Technician to join our growing team. This position focuses on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting large commercial systems (up to 50 tons), advanced controls, and refrigeration cycles, as well as the ability to mentor and guide junior level technicians.  We’re looking for a driven technician who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and takes pride in providing high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and Repair HVAC Systems up to 50 Tons: Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC systems, including large compressors and motors, ensuring they operate  efficiently.
  • Evaporator & Condenser Coil Diagnosis: Identify issues in both evaporators and condensers, performing necessary repairs and replacements to maintain system efficiency.
  • VAV & Economizer Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems and economizers to optimize air handling and energy usage.
  • Refrigerant Cycle Diagnosis: Accurately diagnose issues in the refrigeration cycle and implement the necessary fixes.
  • Hydronic Pump Maintenance & Repair: Perform maintenance and repair of hydronic systems, including pumps, to ensure optimal operation.
  • TXV Diagnosis & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair Thermal Expansion Valves (TXVs) to maintain the correct refrigerant flow and system efficiency.
  • Coil Replacements: Replace faulty evaporator and condenser coils in commercial systems.
  • Advanced Electrical & Controls Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot complex electrical and control issues related to HVAC equipment, ensuring systems are functioning safely and efficiently.
  • Read & Interpret Complex Schematics: Read and understand complex electrical and mechanical schematics for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Mentorship: Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, providing training and guidance to help develop their skills and improve team efficiency.

Requirements
  •  3+ years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of large commercial/industrial HVAC systems.
  • Clean Driving Record and the ability to drive a company vehicle.
  • Ability to pass fit-for-duty evaluations for contract requirements.
  • Ability to pass pre-hire drug screening and maintain random drug screening per company policy
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC components, including large compressors, motors, economizers, and VAV systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage service calls with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to lift heavy equipment (up to 80 lbs) and work in a variety of physical conditions (e.g., climbing ladders, working in confined spaces).
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex schematics and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with customers and team members.
  • Ability to mentor and train junior technicians (Level 1 & Level 2) to develop their technical skills.
Salary Description
$27.00+ per hour (Based on experience)
