The Team

The Preschool Team provides a supportive, play-based learning environment and adheres to the highest standards, as recognized by its NAEYC Accreditation. With low child-to-teacher ratios, team members focus on meeting each child's individual needs. The team also values continuous learning, offering opportunities for training, professional development, and collaboration to create an innovative and nurturing space for young learners.


The Role

This position offers the opportunity to care for infants or toddlers, providing essential support during a critical developmental period. The role requires a collaborative team player who is passionate about supporting the social, emotional, and physical development of young children. Strong candidates will bring a positive attitude, a growth mindset, and prior experience working with young learners.


Responsibilities 

  • Provide nurturing care to support the social, emotional, and physical needs of each child.
  • Maintain a consistent schedule, Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
  • Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson plans with the teaching team.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with families, including updates about children’s progress and needs (via phone calls, newsletters, and conferences).
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and professional development opportunities to foster personal and team growth.
  • Ensure children’s safety and well-being at all times.

Requirements
  • Experience working with young children and an understanding of their social, emotional, and creative needs.
  • Experience in a childcare or preschool setting (preferred but not required).

Work Environment 

  • Indoor/outdoor classroom environment
  • Outdoor natural learning spaces

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and engage in activities at the child’s level.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate standard office and classroom equipment. 
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time. 
  • Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to assist children.
  • Seeing to read a variety of materials and monitor student activities. 
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information. 
  • Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally.
