Overtown Youth Center is seeking a passionate and creative Broadcasting & Production Instructor to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, enthusiastic professional who enjoys working with youth and is dedicated to inspiring creativity and technical skill development in students through media arts. As the Broadcasting & Production Instructor, you will lead engaging, hands-on after-school and summer program sessions that introduce students to broadcasting, film production, digital content creation, and social media marketing. Through a structured yet inspiring curriculum, students will build foundational skills in storytelling, media production, and platform-based content development while gaining confidence, collaboration skills, and awareness of media-related career pathways. In this role, you will create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages creativity, exploration, and teamwork.

What you would do:
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction in broadcasting, film production, digital content creation, and social media marketing.
- Teach foundational media skills, including camera operation, lighting, sound, scriptwriting, editing, and basic design.
- Guide students in creating original digital content such as short films, podcasts, reels, and social media campaigns.
- Provide hands-on coaching and constructive feedback to support technical skill development and creative expression.
- Introduce responsible digital citizenship, media ethics, and brand storytelling concepts.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment that encourages creativity and teamwork.
- Maintain high levels of student engagement, participation, and skill development.
- Manage classroom materials, equipment, and basic production workflows responsibly.
- Collaborate with program staff to align instruction with program goals and student development outcomes.
- Support culminating projects, showcases, or presentations that highlight student learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, flexibility, and adherence to organizational policies.
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience in broadcasting, film production, digital media, content creation, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate hands-on, engaging learning experiences for youth in an educational or enrichment setting.
- Knowledge of basic media production equipment and tools, including cameras, audio equipment, and editing software.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Ability to set clear instructional goals and provide constructive, supportive feedback.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and staff.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass drug screening and Level 2 background check.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.
