Description

ARM Group LLC is looking for a self-driven and energetic Surveyor. This exciting opportunity offers hands-on fieldwork across diverse projects throughout the region. You'll work with various technology including robotic total stations and GPS/GNSS equipment while contributing to everything from boundary surveys to major construction projects. Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and directly participate in field-based survey crews
  • Conduct various field surveys including boundary, topographic, construction, ALTA/ACSM land title, as-built, and environmental surveys
  • Operate and transport survey equipment including robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, data collectors, and conventional survey tools
  • Research and analyze field data discrepancies, boundary conflicts, and survey control issues on-site
  • Perform field calculations and data verification while on project sites
  • Implement appropriate safety protocols and traffic control measures 
  • Maintain field vehicles, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness for daily deployment
  • Record detailed field notes, sketches, and digital data while on-site
  • Communicate daily with Survey Manager regarding field progress, challenges, and completion status
  • Train junior field staff in proper survey techniques, equipment operation, and field safety
  • Identify and resolve field-specific issues independently while maintaining project schedules
Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of field surveying experience
  • Demonstrated experience operating robotic total stations and GPS/GNSS equipment
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Strong field calculation and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supervising field crews
  • Thorough knowledge of field surveying methods and techniques
  • Ability to interpret plans, plats, legal descriptions, and engineering drawings in the field
  • Knowledge of proper field safety procedures and traffic control methods
  • Strong leadership and communication skills for directing field crews
  • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies between plans and field conditions with self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines

  

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily field-based position (approximately 90% field, 10% office) requiring work outdoors in all weather conditions year-round
  • Frequent travel to job sites within the region including occasional overnight travel required
  • Physically demanding role requiring standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the day with regular exposure to uneven terrain, construction sites, traffic, and natural elements
