This opportunity is Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm.
Will be providing various assistance to the surgery staff with patient transport, office support and delivering and receiving operating room supplies. Will provide safe and efficient transportation of hospital patients and materials throughout the hospital.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in transport of patients, ambulatory or non-ambulatory, via wheelchair or stretcher.
- Verifies assignment information and patient’s by two step identification process.
- Attends to the care of documents relating to transporting of patients and support equipment (IV’s, oxygen, walkers).
- Delivers reports, samples, supplies, mail, charts, specimens or other materials as designated by the supervisor.
- Follows all infection control procedures and assumes responsible for the cleaning of dept. equipment.
- Obtains and maintains proper transport of equipment and reports malfunctions.
- Verifies the proper submission of reports, logs and dispatch sheets, etc. to be used for statistical reports.
- Provides safe and efficient transportation of hospital surgical patients.
- Provide prompt, courteous, knowledgeable service to patients, physicians and other health care team members.
- May assist Nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned areas.
- Monitors and replenishes patient supplies.
- Answers phones courteously, assesses calls and routes appropriately.
- Assists in data entry and charges for procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or G.E.D required.
- Strongly prefer C.N.A. or some experience.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish or Polish is a plus
