Position Overview 

The Northeast Fundraising Manager is responsible for supporting the growth of the region by organizing regional events, cultivating donor relationships, managing the implementation of fundraising campaigns locally, working with industry partners, and ensuring that fundraising goals are met or exceeded. This position works in tandem with the Sr. Director of Development Northeast and is a perfect fit for an innovative, independent go-getter with experience in the Northeast Region who demonstrates a self-disciplined, proactive approach to achieve positive and measurable results. Candidates must live a commutable distance to NYC. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Fundraising & Development 

  • Support the Northeast regional fundraising and engagement plan to reach revenue targets as well as overall Development team financial goals.  
  • Support members of the Northeast Board of Directors and Chief Development Officer while working closely with the Sr. Director of Development to implement programs & events that foster relationships and drive donor engagement.
  • Inspire, engage, and empower fundraisers, ensuring they have the tools and motivation needed to drive successful fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Identify, recruit, cultivate, and recognize fundraisers for their accomplishments. 
  • Research individuals, corporations, and foundations for fundraising interests and opportunities.
  •  Implement marketing and community relations outreach efforts. 
  • Explore innovative strategies to enhance the Development and Business Development Team’s contributions to CAF’s broader mission, optimizing event execution, communications, fundraising initiatives, and donor engagement for greater impact.
  • Ensure organizational leaders and regional Board Members are kept informed about current and future trends in fundraising conditions. 

Events 

  • Support the regional Sr. Program Manager with execution of local clinic activities and events. 
  • Serve as a local “face” of CAF through organizing and attending networking meetings and events with relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee and strategically manage all facets of fundraising event preparation, ensuring that local partner events achieve or surpass annual budget goals through effective planning, execution, and donor engagement.
  • Continuously seek innovative strategies to enhance, communicate, and reinforce the value of these events and relationships each year, ensuring sustained growth and deeper engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Events and Business Development teams on event strategy and goals.
  • Manage the School Program Initiative by acting as the liaison between schools, high school clubs, and CAF. Identify schools and gateways into the schools (through students, parents and staff). Act as a liaison with the students, parents and staff. Assist with arrangement of speaking engagements, athletic clinics, and galas. Ensure evolution of the program to be a family, school and NE community initiative.


Requirements

  

  • Availability to occasionally work evenings and weekends with increased responsibilities around event dates. 
  • Availability and adequate transportation to attend frequent meetings and attend events in NYC and the tri-state area. 
  • Work requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items, to walk short distances, and drive a vehicle to attend events.

  Experience 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fundraising or non-profit development successfully supporting corporate, foundation, and individual giving campaigns & retention and development strategies.
  • Experience managing programs in the Northeast specifically geared towards fundraising and awareness. 
  • Experience working with, and raising money, from donors and corporations in the Northeast. 
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices, ethics, and legal requirements.
  • Self-sufficiency and proactive decision-making and efforts.
  • Efficiently managed tasks and responsibilities with autonomy, ensuring productivity and accountability with minimal supervision.
  • Experience managing budgets to achieve measurable income and performance goals.
  • Experience with the preparation of fundraising proposals and reports.
  • Experience working with volunteer boards and managing volunteers.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, marketing, non-profit management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Knowledge of philanthropy and adaptive sports in the regional area is a plus.
  • Strong interest in sports is a plus. 


Skills & Competencies 

  • A strong commitment to the CAF mission to the objectives, goals, and programs of the organization.
  • Knowledge of the techniques of donor/prospect research with the ability to extract and distill pertinent information from multiple sources. 
  • Ability and confidence to work successfully with a variety of individuals and personalities (donors, board members, athletes, etc.)
  • Event planning, management, and execution based on specific needs. 
  • Excellent presentation skills, showcasing the ability to engage and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities effectively.
  •  Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of computers, office equipment and software programs including Microsoft suite, Salesforce and Donor Drive (or other donor databases).
  • Demonstration of utmost courtesy, confidentiality, and a collaborative and accountable approach to accomplishing work.
  • Adept, confident and proven in multi-tasking, entrepreneurial non-profit or business environment.


Compensation

CAF offers a competitive compensation package including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance (monthly stipend if not enrolled in medical insurance), employer paid Basic Life and Long-Term Disability Insurance, 401k match, paid time off, and paid holidays. 

Salary Range for this exempt position is $75,000.00 – 80,000.00 annual base salary based on experience.
