Minimum Qualifications:
· Education
- Master’s degree or higher in social work, counseling, psychology, or other relevant behavioral science with clinical experience.
- LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, LMFT-A, LMSW or LCSW required
· Experience
- 1 year of experience providing counseling to pregnant or parenting people and working with Substance Use Disorders is preferred. If not, will complete a training on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD) within the first year of being hired.
· License and Credentials
- Licensed to provide clinical services in the State of Texas;
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor or experience with Alcohol and Drug Treatment a plus;
- Reliable transportation;
- Valid driver license; Must have clean driving record
- Valid vehicle insurance;
- MUST be bilingual and able to conduct therapy using both English and Spanish languages.
- Submit to a state and federal background check, Child abuse and neglect registry check, and Tuberculosis screening;
- Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in working with pregnant and parenting people and substance use disorders.
- Working knowledge of issues faced by post-partum depression, trauma survivors and best practices for treatment
- Ability to conduct therapy using both English and Spanish language;
- Willing to work from a Faith Based Lens is a PLUS;
- Experience with computer software and MS Office suite required;
- A solid grasp of creating learning opportunities and developmentally safe, stimulating environments for teens and young children;
- Ability to evaluate tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines;
- Ability to communicate program goals and expectations verbally and in writing to a variety of learners;
- Ability and willingness to work some evenings and/or weekend hours as needed;
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
- Must have good written and verbal skills; Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Travel Requirements: Travel requirements for the position includes 10 to 30% local and less than 5% overnight.
