Work Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Workdays: Monday – Friday (weekends/evenings as needed)Location: 202 W French Pl, San Antonio TX. 78210

 This therapist position will be positioned within our Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program. The NFP program provides home visiting to aid in a flexible option for perinatal services to families with little to no transportation and/or require an early evening appointment due to school/work schedule. The nurses will identify potential mental health issues during pregnancy and/or postpartum. Once a client is identified as needing the therapeutic services, the nurse will arrange a meeting between the client and the therapist. The therapist will be responsible to provide therapeutic assistance and to work with the nurses regarding appropriate interventions. This is a collaborative position and will work within the NFP team. Provide comprehensive delivery of therapeutic counseling and groups to clients from the Nurse Family Partnership program. Groups may occur either at one of the office locations or via Zoom. The majority of clients will be seen in their home. For those unwilling to be seen in the home, may result in tele-therapy or in the office.  Expectations are 15 community-based clients per week. Completion of a Psycho-Social Assessment is expected within 30 days of opening a client and a treatment plan utilizing SMART Goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely) is due within 45 days of initial meeting with the client. All progress notes and contact notes and clinical documentation are expected to be completed within 48 hours of service provision. Participate in clinical staff meetings, professional development, and bi-weekly staffing meetings and outreach endeavors as directed. Participate in providing field-based services and consultation as needed. Must be willing to maintain flexible schedule to meet the needs of clients and respond to on call rotation for emergencies.

Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications:

· Education

  • Master’s degree or higher in social work, counseling, psychology, or other relevant behavioral  science with clinical experience.
  •  LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, LMFT-A, LMSW or LCSW required

· Experience

  • 1 year of experience providing counseling to pregnant or parenting people and working with Substance Use Disorders is preferred. If not, will complete a training on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD) within the first year of being hired. 

· License and Credentials

  • Licensed to provide clinical services in the State of Texas;
  • Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor or experience with Alcohol and Drug Treatment a plus;
  • Reliable transportation;
  • Valid driver license; Must have clean driving record
  • Valid vehicle insurance;
  • MUST be bilingual and able to conduct therapy using both English and Spanish languages. 
  • Submit to a state and federal background check, Child abuse and neglect registry check, and Tuberculosis screening;
  • Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities


Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in working with pregnant and parenting people and substance use disorders. 
  • Working knowledge of issues faced by post-partum depression, trauma survivors and best practices for treatment
  • Ability to conduct therapy using both English and Spanish language;
  • Willing to work from a Faith Based Lens is a PLUS;
  • Experience with computer software and MS Office suite required;
  • A solid grasp of creating learning opportunities and developmentally safe, stimulating environments for teens and young children;
  • Ability to evaluate tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to communicate program goals and expectations verbally and in writing to a variety of learners;
  • Ability and willingness to work some evenings and/or weekend hours as needed;
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
  • Must have good written and verbal skills; Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.


Travel Requirements: Travel requirements for the position includes 10 to 30% local and less than 5% overnight.
