Job Summary

We are looking for motivated high school or college-aged individuals with a passion for engineering or an interest in pursuing a technical degree to join our team for a 3-month temporary position. This role will provide hands-on support for engineering, fabrication, and launch facility field operations at our Chatsworth facility and Central Coast locations. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, comfortable in both shop and office environments, and proficient with Microsoft Office products.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist engineering team with fabrication, assembly, and testing of components in a shop environment.
  • Support documentation efforts, including creating and updating technical reports, spreadsheets, and presentations using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Aid in preparing and organizing materials for launch operations on the Central Coast.
  • Perform basic maintenance and organization tasks in the shop to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot issues and support project milestones.
  • Routine travel to Central Coast launch operation centers to assist with on-site tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies in both shop and office settings.


Requirements

 Qualifications

  • Current high school or college student with an interest in engineering or pursuing a technical degree.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to commute to the Chatsworth, CA office (required).
  • Comfortable working in both shop and office environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain attention to detail.
  • Available to work from June 16, 2025, to September 12, 2025 (or until school starts).

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles or fabrication processes is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a technical or shop environment is beneficial but not required.
  • Enthusiasm for hands-on work and problem-solving.

Working Conditions

  • Work will primarily be performed at our Chatsworth, CA facility, with occasional travel to Central Coast launch operation centers.
  • Role involves a combination of office-based tasks (e.g., documentation) and hands-on work in a shop environment (e.g., fabrication, assembly).
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • This position will require travel.

  • Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  
  • Fingering (typing), communicating, repetitive motions. 
  • Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitors and read. May need to view presentation screens and other visual aids in a virtual setting.  
  • Inside environmental conditions with protection from outside elements.
