CLEVELAND AREA HOSPITAL is an independent, self-managed Critical Access Hospital half an hour west of Tulsa, Oklahoma. As the only hospital in Pawnee County, we are constantly striving to provide the highest level of care by continuously growing and updating our services and equipment. POSITION SUMMARY: …………. Provides education and evaluation to all staff within and outside the hospital, in other buildings, using evidence-based research. Collaborates with all medical practitioners and nursing staff to incorporate nursing processes into the plan of care for patients. Complies with the Oklahoma State Department of Health and Centers for Medicaid and Medicare guidelines.

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Adhere to all policies of the organization, including (but not limited to) job description, certification/licensure requirements, mission statement, HIPAA, confidentiality standards and patients’ rights.
2. Actively engage and stay up to date with the organization’s communications and directives.
3. Provides educational leadership to patient care providers within the established healthcare setting.
4. Assists caregivers with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management across the continuum of care.
5. Collaborates with medical providers, patient care staff, and management in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula.
6. Initiates skills development programs within the parameters of established care models; implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with standards and parameters.
7. Serves as a resource to develop patient care plans, incorporating evidence-based research and national standards to ensure quality patient care.
8. Serves as a resource to ensure quality patient care.
9. Educates patient care staff in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments, coordinating in-service training and workshops for appropriate staff.
10. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies by promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

13. State compliance education to include, but not limited to: Fire Drills, Code Blue Drills, Disaster Drills, etc. This includes planning, oversight, and documentation.

EDUCATIONAL/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Registered Nurse: BSN preferred, experience related to duties and responsibilities specified.
BLS, ACLS, PALS Instructor
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of protocol, procedures, and standards within the area of nursing expertise.
Ability to provide operational guidance and leadership to staff.
Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse. Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Charge Nurse, House Supervisor, or Educator.
