Base Salary Range: $30.92 - $33.38 Hourly

FTE: Full-time, Non-Exempt

General Summary: Under general supervision, the accountant will provide clerical and administrative support staff. The accountant is responsible for performing general office duties and for maintaining and processing all Accounts Payable and Cash Receipts records, which serve form the basis of SCFHC’s financial reporting. Emphasis is placed on accuracy and attention to detail in the daily cash count, coding of invoices, expense reports, petty cash, check requests, and similar transactions, in accordance with standard accounting practices and procedures for data entry into the financial software system. The ideal candidate will have to perform some of the following essential duties. 


  • Perform office duties including data entry, document scanning, filling, and photocopying
  • Assists with ordering materials, supplies, and/or equipment, and follows up with vendors on delivery status.
  • Obtain invoice approval from the appropriate department
  • Performs daily cash counts based on reports from the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and reports discrepancies to the supervisor
  • Maintains petty cash and ensures proper documentation for all disbursements.
  • Attend departmental/ center-side meetings as required.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned by the Controller or Chief Financial Officer.
  • Responsible for the coding, input and posting of approved invoices into the computerized Accounts Payable system.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date vendor files.
  • Prepares 1099 forms at year-end for consultants and related state and federal forms.
  • Maintains an updated Vendor Master List, with accurate addresses and other necessary information.
  • Files copies of purchase orders and receiving reports (packing slips) for invoice matching.
  • Ensures that W-9 forms are on file for all subcontractors and/or vendors. 
  • Assist in the preparation of annual audit, and other miscellaneous projects
  • Follows all SCFHC policies and procedures


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • College degree – Bachelor's Required
  • Knowledge of computers, including Windows Software.
  • Require knowledge of office equipment and accounting terminology
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping 
  • Knowledge of FQHC billing preferred

Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, preferably in health or related field.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and written
  • Type 35 wpm 
  • 10 key by touch
  • Detail oriented, well organized and work well under deadlines 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be a team player and quick learner
  • Computer skills; MS Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 
  • Internet Literate
