PRIMARY FUNCTION
The primary function of the Logistics & 3PL Coordinator - CA is to manage the coordination/dispatching of all US west coast inbound shipments and develop plans to meet company’s short-term and long-term supply chain management/production control requirements. This position will visit the company’s third party logistics (3PL) locations in California and direct all west coast 3PL activity. The Logistics & 3PL Coordinator - CA works under general supervision, and will exercise discretion and independent judgement as it pertains to the duties described below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions (i.e., key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished to fulfill the purpose of the position includes but is not limited to:
Logistics and Supply Chain Coordination (35%)
• Responsible for implementing a fully functional supply chain management/production control infrastructure.
• Manages the logistical aspects of product life cycles, including coordination or provisioning of samples and the minimization of obsolescence.
• Plans and coordinates transportation of materials and manages the timely flow of customer orders.
• Negotiates rates with trucking companies to ensure the upmost quality and timely.
• Adheres to shipping/receiving and regulatory compliance procedures
In-Bound Shipment Coordination (30%)
• Proactively identifies challenges with regards to shipments to come up with timely response to ensure that clients/customers receive merchandize.
• Manages shipment schedules and makes allocation to the different trucking companies.
• Directs activities by establishing task priorities, scheduling, and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources.
• Tracks products through depots to ensure they arrive in a timely manner
Freight Control Coordination (20%)
• Develops and implements technical project management tools such as plans, schedules and responsibility and compliance matrices.
• Maintains record keeping systems (input and issuance from inventory, labor reporting, startup of quoting modules, etc.).
• Carries out a comprehensive review of the procurement function and its methodology and identifies and implements improvements.
Business Relations Coordination (10%)
• Identify new suppliers, agrees to terms, and negotiate supply agreements, where appropriate.
• Coordinates vendor relationships.
• Develops and implements technical project management tools such as plans, schedules and responsibility and compliance
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of supply chain experience.
• Language: English, Mandarin is preferred
• Must travel to 3PL locations regularly
