Overview

The Ice Rink Maintenance & Operations Technician is a hands-on, mid-level maintenance role that requires both physical labor and shift management responsibilities. You'll be responsible for the daily upkeep of our facility, operating heavy equipment (training provided), and leading a small team during your assigned shifts.

The Galleria Dallas Ice Skating Center is a premier attraction within Galleria Dallas, a vibrant mixed-use shopping and entertainment destination with over 200 retailers and restaurants. The Ice Rink Maintenance & Operations Technician will be a key part of our team, ensuring the smooth operation of this central community hub.

  

Job Type & Schedule: This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays 


Key Responsibilities

  • Ice Resurfacing and Maintenance: Operate and maintain the Zamboni ice resurfacer and edger to ensure the ice is in pristine condition. This includes changing and maintaining blades as needed.
  • Physical Maintenance Tasks: Perform skate sharpening and repairs, and contribute to the overall cleanliness and readiness of the facility.
  • Shift Management: Act as the manager on duty during assigned shifts. You will oversee cashiers and clerks, manage the daily flow of public skating sessions, and handle operational paperwork.
  • Operational Support: Assist the management team with various physical projects and ensure the smooth and safe operation of the facility.
Requirements
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • A minimum of  2-3 years of hands-on maintenance, mechanical, or equipment operation experience is required.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a leadership, supervisory, or shift management role is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • No prior ice-skating experience is required – training will be provided.
