Job Summary:

Visitation, a faith-based Catholic school dedicated to academic excellence and spiritual development, is seeking a passionate and qualified 5th Grade Math Teacher for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education, a commitment to nurturing the whole child, and a dedication to integrating Catholic values into daily teaching and interactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based math instruction that supports a range of learners.
  • Integrate Catholic teachings and values into the classroom environment and curriculum.
  • Create lesson plans aligned with diocesan, state, and national standards.
  • Assess student progress through formal and informal assessments, and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement and behavior.
  • Foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages mutual respect, active learning, and personal responsibility.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student growth and school-wide initiatives.
  • Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, and other religious activities.
  • Attend professional development opportunities and faculty meetings.
  • Uphold the mission and philosophy of Catholic education in word and action.
Requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; a concentration in Math is preferred.
  • Valid state teaching certification; Catholic teaching credential or willingness to obtain one preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience, particularly in upper elementary or middle school grades, is a plus.
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred, with a willingness to share and model the faith.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for Catholic education and commitment to student success.
