About the Role


We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Perform various full-cycle accounting functions:

- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

- Reconcile bank accounts and promptly resolve any discrepancies.  

- Prepare and send invoices to clients, while tracking and managing collections.  

- Review employee expense reimbursements to ensure proper coding in Concur.  

- Audit and review vendor invoices in Bill.com to ensure accurate general ledger allocation.  

  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax; reconcile monthly
  • Prepare annual Personal Property Tax filings.
  • Assist Controller and outside accountants on annual Financial Review.
  • Serve as liaison with internal and external partners (e.g., GoWest, vendors, payroll providers).
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and external reporting standards.
  • Additional ad hoc responsibilities as needed.

HR, Benefits & Payroll Coordination

  • Perform monthly and off-cycle payrolls.
  • Manage changes with benefit providers (Principal, 39n, 401k).
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of health insurance carrier accounts.
  • Handle 401(k) monthly reconciliations, and annual non-discrimination testing.
  • Assist employees with benefits-related questions.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and due diligence questionnaires.
  • Set up onboarding in Paylocity and initiate background checks.
  • Conduct onboarding meetings and gather compliance forms (e.g., I-9, signed policies).
  • Add new hires and terminations to systems (Concur, Bill.com, health benefits, 401k).
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage related benefit transitions (e.g., COBRA).


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 3–5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting with exposure to HR/benefits/payroll.
  • Experience with accounting and ancillary systems and proficiency with Excel.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, payroll tax compliance, sales tax compliance, and employee benefits regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with changing priorities.

Pay range and compensation package 


The salary range is $65,000 - $75,000, plus a bonus opportunity.
