Staff Accountant
Description

The Staff Accountant will be a key member of the accounting team, responsible for executing and overseeing complex accounting functions, including participating in month-end close activities and providing accounting support for cash accounts, investments, partnerships, supplier interest, meetings and portions of programs & services. This role will ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient close processes, and support for various accounting operations, including accounts receivable and annual audits.


Primary Responsibilities:


Month-End Close:

  • Maintain and reconcile monthly trial balance reconciliations.
  • Record monthly journal entries as part of the close process.

Investment Accounting:

  • Record monthly entries and review statements for over twenty investments with a variety of different profiles, such as equity investments, debt investments, mutual funds, etc.
  • Prepare quarterly entries and review statements for over thirty partnership investments.
  • Prepare investment scorecard reporting on a monthly basis under supervision of Accounting Supervisor and Sr. Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting, which is distributed to key executives.

Supplier Interest:

  • Record monthly entries for supplier interest based on information provided by our financial processing team.
  • Prepare monthly schedule for supplier interest by supplier, which is distributed to key executives within the Company.

Cash Accounting:

  • Prepare bank reconciliations for cash accounts denominated in US dollars and within foreign currencies. Many of these accounts are high volume accounts.
  • Record journal entries based on banking transactions.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the annual audit.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications with intermediate knowledge of Excel (V-lookup, pivot tables and filtering)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ERP systems, with Lawson experience preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Minimum 2-4 years of related progressive corporate experience required

Additional Comments:

  • Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. M-F
  • Position is based out of our corporate office in Wayne, PA, where we work on a hybrid schedule (Monday and Friday remote and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the offices in Wayne, PA).
